The federal prosecutor in Manhattan is one of the most powerful figures in U.S. law enforcement, resigning after the Trump administration ordered New York Mayor Eric Adams to abandon orders.
Danielle Sassoon, a senior prosecutor, took over as a U.S. attorney in southern New York with performance skills, according to a person familiar with the matter.
Sassoon has been promoted in nine years in Manhattan’s U.S. Attorney’s Office, part of the team is a conviction and 25-year prison sentence for stealing billions from clients on cryptocurrency exchanges. The dollar’s assets allegations.
The U.S. Department of Justice has directed the Manhattan office to stop prosecuting Adams, who was accused of accepting illegal foreign campaign contributions last year and representing the Turkish government’s dedication to the official.

Jay Clayton leads the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC), who has nominated to lead the Manhattan Attorney’s Office but has not yet been confirmed by the U.S. Senate.
