Rescued fox undergoes world’s first brain surgery

A rescued fox has undergone brain surgery at a British vet, the first of its kind in the world. Rescuers found the cub, named Hazel, lying next to her mother who had been hit by a car on the side of the road in Maidstone, Kent. Rescuers took the six-week-old fox cub to Kent Wildlife Rescue Service where volunteers noticed her forehead had become enlarged. As she grew, she started having seizures and was diagnosed with hydrocephalus, which causes water to build up around the brain.
