Trump nominee Tulsi Gabbard confirms Senate fight

President Donald Trump continued his successful cabinet confirmation list on Wednesday, with Tulsi Gabbard officially approved by the Senate to become his National Intelligence Corporation (DNI).

She became his 14th cabinet confirmation after the vote on Wednesday.

Despite her hard fight ahead of the first hurdle for the Senate Intelligence Select Committee, the former Democratic Representative managed to come back and get key Republicans to support her overseeing competition from U.S. intelligence agencies.

But Warner failed to convince any Republicans that Gabbard’s nomination exceeded the last hurdle Monday night. Voting for the party line passed 52-46.

Despite concerns about her with former Syrian President Bashar al-Assad, her former FISA Article 702 position and her past support for NSA whistleblower Edward Snowden.

Shortly after Trump was elected, he announced his Gabbard for DNI in November. “I am pleased to announce that former MP Colonel Talsi Gabbard will serve as a director of the National Intelligence Corporation (DNI),” he said in a statement at the time.
