Trump appoints FTC Commissioner Andrew Ferguson to chair competition regulator

Donald Trump has appointed a commissioner at the US competition regulator to replace Lina Khan as its next chair.
The president-elect announced Andrew Ferguson as chairman of the Federal Trade Commission, saying in a Truth Social post Tuesday night that he has “a proven track record of standing up to Big Tech scrutiny.”
Before being sworn in as a member of the FTC in April, Ferguson served as Virginia’s deputy attorney general and before that as chief counsel to Republican Senator Mitch McConnell.
“Andrew will be the most America-first, most pro-innovation Federal Trade Commission Chairman in our country’s history,” Trump wrote.
