“A combination of dry fuels, hurricane-force winds and low humidity have fueled the fires, creating challenges in controlling them as they burn tens of thousands of acres. The threat is not over yet,” the organization said. “Severe fire weather will continue through the Friday and then again next week as the situation continues to evolve, people must remain vigilant, prepare to evacuate and follow the instructions of local authorities.”
