2024: The year in photos – Los Angeles Times

The year started with heavy rains in Southern California, triggering massive landslides, and ended with wildfires raging across the South.
Genaro Molina chronicles the end of an era at The Times Olympic Press. Following the decision to outsource, the company announced that the facility, once the crown jewel of its vast media empire, would close sometime in 2024.
New York Times photographer Robert Gauthier captured all the commotion behind the scenes at the 2024 Emmy Awards, as winners walked backstage and presenters waited behind the scenes. The stars gathered together, read their cue cards, and watched the monitors backstage.
